What Does Previous Employment Mean?

I SEE previous employment as just another line in the resume.

But I REMEMBER it, not by the salary I was compensated with, nor as a step on my career advancement, but more essentially, by the conversations that developed from small talks to profound personal struggles and triumphs.

I witness professional interaction develop into a friendship and a lending ear that has turned sore with glee.

I take previous employment as a graduation from a school of choice between the earthly, tangible desire to stay ahead in the career race (with all the repercussions it entails) and keeping attuned to one’s values and perceived purpose in the circumstance.

I believe previous employment means your purpose in the workplace, and to the people within, has been done. It is time to sail off and be used where you are much more needeed.

Previous employment means a chance to meet another set of people where your life can be more heterogenuously richer, like how the previous ones made it qualitatively richer for you, as well.

It is another chance to share what you learned, not only in the field, but more importantly, in life. In return, a chance to get soaked like a sponge with new ideas, maybe another form of enlightenment.

Previous employment is just another line in the resume, where I take with me another sphere of myself, another realm of personal understanding, another depth in my being.

Previous employment is just another soul-enriching line in my resume, I suggest, we should have more of it.

When a Thief Forces You To Take Money Out of the ATM

I got this from a forwarded e-mail. Not sure if it works. But just in case of emergency (knock on wood), you can try.

Be alert, awake, enthusiastic.

Just to let you know…this helps a lot…

When a thief forces you to take money from the ATM, do not argue or resist. You might not know what he or she might do to you. What you should do is to punch your PIN in the reverse mode.
I.e. if your PIN # is 1254, you punch 4521.The moment you punch in the reverse mode, the money will come out, but will be stuck into the machine half way out and it will alert the Police (security) without the notice of the thief. Every ATM has it; it is specially made to signify danger and help. Not everyone is aware of this.

Forward this to all your loved ones, friends and those you care about.

Practical Tips I Wish I Knew When I Was Starting: Notes for Start-up Entrepreneurs

KLEINMACHNOW - DECEMBER 17: A sign for Intern...

Entrepreneurship has been one of the many passions that brought whirlwinds and manic episodes in my renaissance personality.  I have ventured on holiday bazaars, online marketing via Multiply, sold on Ebay and Sulit.com, just to name a few. As a starter, I did my research just as we were told to “never go to a battle unprepared”. But hardly can you know it all at once. One is well aware of the theory, but in practice, it’s all a different story.

From a personal point of view, if you think you are a neophyte in the business, these are the other things that are good to know for newbie entrepreneurs.

  • When having a bazaar, do oculars on the venue. By doing this you will know what to expect (crowd, sweat, thefts, parking), what to bring (tables & chairs, labels, plasters, money bag, food & drinks), how to “strategize” so your merchandise will stand out.
  • For online sellers, compare and contrast the rates and services of every courier available. The couriers will be your new favorite place once you’ve really indulged yourself. I collated some of the Courier Services in ph.
  • Create a very comprehensive inventory list. Do not depend on your memory or a temporary paper that may get lost. List everything! You will need the detailed transaction for future reference, I tell you.
  • Go for simplicity. Do not spend a lot on packaging or extravagance on a start-up. The less expenses, the better, but without compromising the quality of the product, of course.
  • List all the available bazaar spot where you can possibly join. Subscribe to their sites to receive bulletins so you can reserve your slot as early as possible. By this you can save on slot promos, get the best location, and comply with their requirements on time.
  • Find a booth partner. This will save you reservation fees and possibly create networks. You can find willing partners on Multiply or other advertising websites. The goal is less expenses!
  • When you subscribe, always check your emails. Not only does it update you, there are a lot of avenues you can get acquainted of, or probably ideas to pop for a better venture.
  • You may be new, but you can be new and ready. Prepare a business card! I didn’t think people in the bazaar will be asked but if they like your new biz, they will want you for a reference. Good thing, then, I had spare cut out tags to give away.

Of course, be sunny, truthful, and accommodating at all business times.

These are my 8 picks  for now. Subscribe! for more other things that are good to know.
